Mexican Torta Cubana

  • 4 telera rolls
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 beef cutlet
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 chorizo
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 sausages, cut into quarters lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 slices deli ham
  • 1 cup Oaxaca cheese, shredded
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, cut into round slices
  • 1 onion
  • pickled chiles

  • Cut telera rolls in half along the edge.
  • Spread the telera crown with refried beans and the heel with mayonnaise. Set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil and fry beef cutlet. Set aside.
  • In another skillet over medium heat, heat oil and fry chorizo. Add egg and cook for 3 minutes.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil and fry sausages. Remove and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil and place one deli ham slice and top with Oaxaca cheese. Place another deli ham slice on top and fry for 2 minutes on one side and flip.
  • Place fried beef cutlet on top of the telera heel. Top with chorizo and egg, sausages, and deli ham and cheese. Place some tomato and onion round slices, avocado, and pickled chiles on top. Place telera crown on top.
  • Cut Mexican torta cubana in half and serve.
