  • For the meat: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, celery, carrots, tomatoes, and ground beef. Add red wine, tomato purée, thyme, oregano, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 20 minutes until liquid evaporates. Set aside.
  • For the bechamel sauce: In a pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour. Brown for some minutes and add milk. Season with white pepper, salt, and nutmeg. Cook for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Set aside.
  • For the pasta: In a pot bring water to a boil. Add salt and cook pasta sheets for 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • For assembling the easy cheesy beef lasagna: Place a layer of pasta, a layer of bechamel sauce, a layer of meat, and a layer of cheese. Repeat until the baking dish is full. Top with a layer of cheese. Bake for 20 minutes. Cut and serve.
