  • 6 sausages, beef, smoked, for grilling
  • 12 slices bacon
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup onion, cut into thin strips
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 3 Jalapeño chiles

  • 6 hot dog buns, warm
  • mayonnaise, for serving
  • mustard, for serving
  • ketchup, for serving
  • pico de gallo, with avocado, for serving

  • Wrap sausages with bacon strips. Set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat vegetable oil and fry onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and Jalapeño chiles. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until brown. Set aside.
  • In a skillet or grill with a bit of vegetable oil, grill bacon-wrapped sausages until fried.
  • For assembling the Los Angeles hot dogs: Slice hot dog buns on one side without cutting all the way through. Place grilled sausage. Top with fried veggies, charred Jalapeño chile, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. Serve Los Angeles hot dogs with pico de gallo with avocado.
