  • 3 cups cream cheese, cut into cubes, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cups chipotle chile in adobo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cups smoked oysters, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce, preferably Tabasco
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 cups almonds, 1 cup peeled and 1 cup unpeeled, toasted
  • some rosemary
  • some dried cranberries
  • 1 slice sandwich bread, for the star
  • some saltine crackers, for serving

  • For the dip: In a bowl, mix cream cheese, chipotle in adobo sauce, garlic powder, smoked oysters, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and lime juice.
  • On a chopping board, place plastic wrap. Add previous mixture. Cover with more plastic wrap and shape into a Christmas tree using your hands. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, flatten a slice of sandwich bread with a rolling pin. Using a cookie cutter, cut stars. Bake in an electric oven over medium heat until crisp and toasted.
  • Remove Christmas tree cheese ball from fridge. Place on a plate and garnish with almonds, cranberries, and rosemary sprigs. Place bread star on top. Serve nutty Christmas tree cheese ball with crackers on the side.
