Copycat KFC Chicken Tenders

  • 2 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless, cut into 0.7-inch strips
  • 2 cups milk, for the marinade
  • 1/4 cups butter, melted, for the marinade
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce, for the marinade
  • 4 eggs, whisked
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground pepper
  • some salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • some vegetable oil
  • mashed potatoes, for serving
  • coleslaw, for serving
  • BBQ sauce, for serving

  • In a bowl, mix milk, butter, and hot sauce. Dip chicken strips and let marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • In a bowl, add egg and set aside. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, salt, and baking powder. Mix thoroughly. Remove chicken strips from marinade and dip in flour mixture. Dip in egg and dip in flour once more. Place on a plate and set aside.
  • In a pot, heat plenty of oil over medium heat for deep frying the chicken strips. Add chicken strips and fry for 5 to 8 minutes until brown. The temperature must not be too high so as to brown the chicken strips on the outside and cook them through on the inside. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Serve copycat KFC chicken tenders on a plate with salad, mashed potatoes, and BBQ sauce.
