Easy
  • In a pot over medium heat, bring water to a boil and cook chicken for 30 minutes or until tender and cooked through. Remove chicken and set broth aside. Cut chicken into medium-sized chunks. Chicken carcass will only add flavor and nutrients to the preparation so you can throw it away.
  • In a non-stick pot over medium-low heat, place 3 cups of water and cook rice covered for at least 18 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a pot with hot water, cook broccoli, carrot, and zucchini for 6 minutes. Once vegetables are slightly soft, drain, and set aside.
  • In a food processor, combine chicken, broccoli, carrot, zucchini, lettuce, spinach, and oats and grind into small chunks. Transfer to a bowl and mix with rice.
  • Divide homemade dog food into portions and store in resealable plastic bags with one or two cups of broth. The portion will depend on the size and breed of your dog, so it is best to seek advice from the vet. Freeze each portion and heat before serving.
