  • For the fried chicken: In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed. Add hot sauce, cereal, egg, and water, then whisk to combine. The mixture should not be too thick. Add the chicken drumsticks and reserve.
  • Heat oil in a heavy skillet over low heat. Fry the chicken for about 18 minutes or until golden brown—low heat is key for ensuring chicken is fully cooked, plus you need enough oil to come about halfway up the chicken drumsticks. Pat the fried chicken dry with paper towels.
  • For the hot sauce: In a bowl, mix melted butter, buffalo sauce, and hot sauce until incorporated. Reserve until ready to use.
  • Serve with French fries and hot sauce on side for dipping (or spooning over).
