  • For the dressing: In a blender, combine mayonnaise, charred bell pepper, mustard, güero chiles, salt, and pepper and blend until smooth.
  • On a chopping board, place two slices of sandwich bread and spread dressing on them. Add Manchego cheese, American cheese, and ham. Place bread slices on top to form a sandwich. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter or a paper template to cut sandwich into a star.
  • Repeat previous process to form 2 large-sized stars, 4 medium-sized stars, and 2 small-sized stars. Both small-sized stars can be made from the same sandwich. Use the smallest star-shaped cookie cutter to cut a cheddar cheese star.
  • For assembling the Christmas tree sandwiches: Top a large-sized star with lettuce and a round slice of cucumber. Place a medium-sized star, lettuce, and cucumber on top. Place another medium-sized star on top. Repeat the process alternating layers of ingredients and top with a small-sized star.
  • Insert a wooden skewer in the center of the Christmas tree sandwich and top with a cheddar cheese star. Garnish with cherry tomato baubles and stick them with a bit of dressing. Repeat the process to make two extra trees. Serve Christmas tree sandwiches.
