  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 bananas, mashed 
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cups pecans, finely chopped 
  • walnuts, for garnish

  • Preheat oven to 338 °F.
  • In a bowl, cream butter with sugar and add eggs one by one.
  • Add mashed bananas, lime juice, and vanilla essence.
  • Add flour and baking powder little by little. Mix thoroughly. Add cream and pecans and mix for 2 more minutes.
  • Pour batter into a previously greased and floured round cake pan. Arrange pecans to form a flower on top of the batter. Bake for 1 hour.
  • Let banana bread with pecans cool. Unmold.
