  • 7 pieces of bread, stale
  • 4 cups cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cups raisins
  • 1/4 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 stick butter, 3.1 oz

  • Preheat oven to 374 °F.
  • Cut bread into small pieces. Place bread in a bowl. Add milk and let soak for 10 minutes.
  • Drain bread, and add sugar, egg, vanilla, raisins, pecans, and melted butter.
  • Mix thoroughly and pour mixture into a previously greased and floured 11-inch cake pan.
  • Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Use the toothpick test to see if the bread pudding is done. Let cool.
