  • 2 liters water
  • 3 cups piloncillo
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 4 Mexican chocolate tablets
  • 6 envelopes unflavored gelatin powder, 0.2 oz each
  • some whipped cream, for garnish
  • some chocolate, shredded, for garnish

  • In a small pot heat water, piloncillo, and cinnamon until piloncillo dissolves.
  • Add chocolate and cook until dissolved, stirring constantly.
  • Add masa dough little by little. Cook until the masa dough is cooked through and the mixture has a thick consistency. Remove cinnamon stick and add unflavored gelatin powder.
  • Pour into a mold and refrigerate until set.
  • Unmold champurrado gelatin and garnish with whipped cream and shredded chocolate.
