  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • some red food coloring
  • some green food coloring
  • 1 cup icing sugar, for the frosting
  • 4 tablespoons coconut cream, for the frosting
  • nonpareil sprinkles, green and red, for garnish

  • Preheat oven to 356 °F.
  • Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one by one. Add flour, salt, vanilla essence, and baking powder.
  • Divide the mixture into three. Add red food coloring to one portion, and green food coloring to another.
  • Pour vanilla preparation in a previously greased and floured pan. Add red mixture. Add green mixture. Add a last layer of vanilla mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool and unmold.
  • For the glaze: Mix sugar glass and coconut cream. Divide mixture into two. Add green food coloring to one part.
  • Drizzle white glaze over the Christmas pound cake, follow with green glaze, and garnish with sprinkles.
