Cute Easter Egg Sugar Cookies

  • 450 grams flour
  • 250 grams butter
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • food coloring, mix of colors
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 2 limes

  • Preheat oven to 356 °F.
  • In a bowl, cream butter with a mixer. Once creamy, add sugar. In another bowl, mix baking powder and flour and set aside.
  • Add egg to the creamed butter with sugar. Mix thoroughly and add salt and vanilla.
  • Little by little, add flour mixture and mix until a soft cookie dough is formed.
  • Divide cookie dough into two. Place each portion into plastic bags and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Flour a flat surface and roll out cookie dough to 0.1-inch thickness.
  • Using an egg cookie cutter, cut out cookies.
  • Arrange cookies in a previously greased and floured or parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake until the edges turn golden brown.
  • Remove from oven, let cool, and decorate.
  • For the icing: In a bowl, mix icing sugar and drops of lime juice little by little.
  • Divide the icing into as many bowls as desired colors.
  • Cover each cookie with icing and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Once set, decorate cookies with polka dots, lines, and more, and refrigerate for 15 more minutes.
  • Serve cute Easter egg sugar cookies in an egg carton for a special presentation.
