Easy Caramel Apples

  • 3 cups soft caramels
  • 1 cup peanuts, for the caramel candy apples
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, for the red caramel apples
  • 1/2 cups water, for the red caramel apples
  • 1/2 cups corn syrup, for the red caramel apples
  • 1/2 teaspoons red food coloring, for the red caramel apples
  • 2 cups dark chocolate, for the chocolate apples
  • 1 cup rainbow sprinkles, for the chocolate apples

  • For the red caramel apples: In a deep small pot bring water to a boil. Add apples and let soak until opaque or until wax coating is removed.
  • In a small pot over medium heat, heat sugar, water, corn syrup, and red food coloring. Bring to a simmer.
  • On a chopping board, insert a wooden skewer soaked in lime juice on each apple. Dip apples in caramel and cover completely. Set aside and refrigerate.
  • For the caramel candy apples: In a small pot over medium heat, melt caramel candies with milk. Dip apples and cover completely. Garnish with peanuts and refrigerate.
  • For the chocolate apples: Heat a small pot with water and place a bowl on top. Melt chocolate on a water bath. Dip apples and cover completely. Garnish with rainbow sprinkles and refrigerate.
  • Garnish easy caramel apples with ribbon bows.
