  • Preheat oven to 356 °F.
  • For the dough: Combine all ingredients for the dough in a food processor and grind until well incorporated. Knead slightly. Let rest in refrigeration for 10 minutes.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out dough until it is 0.1-inch thick. Place on a previously greased and floured pie pan. Cut excess dough and set it aside for the lattice top crust.
  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry apples. Add sugar. Cook for 5 minutes or until liquid reduces. Season with cinnamon and cardamom. Let cool. Set aside.
  • Fill pie pan with apples. Cover with a lattice top crust made with the remaining dough. Brush with egg wash. Bake from 40 to 45 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Serve homemade apple pie.
