Tres Leches Cake with Dulce de Leche

  • 2 1/8 sticks butter
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cups condensed milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups condensed milk, for the tres leches
  • 2 cups evaporated milk, for the tres leches
  • 2 cups whole milk, for the tres leches
  • 4 cups dulce de leche

  • Preheat oven to 356 °F.
  • Combine butter and sugar in a mixer and cream. Add condensed milk and eggs, one by one. Add sifted flour and baking powder little by little. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased and floured mold.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until the cake is fluffy. Put bread on a rack. Let cool. Reserve.
  • In a bowl, pour condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Stir and hydrate bread with tres leches mixture. Level the cake. Spoon over tres leches mixture. Chill. Add the remaining tres leches mixture.
  • Soften dulce de leche and carefully spread over the cake. Decorate the cake drawing lines all over the surface using a cake comb. Keep refrigerated.
