  • 1 package María cookies
  • 1 package cornstarch, chocolate atole mix
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 Mexican chocolate tablet
  • 1 piloncillo
  • 1 liter water
  • 2 cans evaporated milk

  • In a pot, bring water to a boil.
  • Add piloncillo, clove, and Mexican chocolate tablet and stir constantly until dissolved.
  • In a blender, combine María cookies and evaporated milk and blend until smooth.
  • Pour previous mixture into the pot little by little stirring constantly.
  • Cook over low heat stirring constantly. In a cup of cold water, dissolve cornstarch chocolate atole mix thoroughly and add to the pot. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens. Serve cookie champurrado.
