Mashed Sweet Potatoes

A holiday favorite, mashed sweet potatoes are a flavorful dish that is a must at every Thanksgiving and Christmas table. Quick and easy to prepare, mashed sweet potatoes are prepared with a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon for a lip-smacking side dish no one will resist.

  • 1 kilo sweet potato
  • 1 sprig cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

  • Wash and rinse sweet potatoes thoroughly. Cook in cold water with a pinch of sugar and one cinnamon stick.
  • Once cooked, remove from heat. Peel sweet potatoes, transfer to a food processor, and grind to a purée.
  • Place sweet potatoes purée in a pot with sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick.
  • Add butter. You can add more if desired. Lastly, add nutmeg. Mix until all the ingredients are completely incorporated.
