Kimbap

Kimbap, also known as gimbap, are delish Korean rice rolls that will make your family keep asking for more! This drool-worthy kimbap features nori stuffed with cooked rice and thinly slice strips of beef tenderloin omelet, carrots, cucumber, and spinach. Give sushi a break and prepare this tasty kimbap ASAP!

  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped, for the marinade
  • 1/2 cups soy sauce, for the marinade
  • 300 grams beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, for frying beef tenderloin
  • some nori
  • 3 cups sushi rice, cooked
  • 3 eggs, omelet, cut into strips
  • 2 cups spinach, leaves, stemmed, rinsed and cooked
  • 2 cups carrot, cooked, cut into thin strips
  • 2 cups cucumber, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cups soy sauce, with lime, for serving
  • some black sesame seeds, for garnish
  • some cucumber, shredded, for garnish

  • In a bowl, mix beef tenderloin, garlic, and soy sauce. Let beef tenderloin marinate for 10 minutes. In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Cook beef tenderloin for 6 minutes until cooked through. Set aside. 
  • Line a bamboo sushi rolling mat with plastic wrap and place nori bright upside down. Spread rice on top until it is ¾ full. Wet your hands and press tightly. Add slices of omelet, spinach, carrots, cucumber, and beef tenderloin. Roll sushi mat gently. Cut kimbap into 0.3-inch slices.
  • Serve kimbap on a plate garnished with cucumber, black sesame seeds, and lime soy sauce.
