Cheeseburger Jalapeño Poppers

Easy and as tasty as can be, these cheeseburger Jalapeño poppers are the ultimate game day snack!   • 12 Jalapeño chiles
  • some water, hot, for cooking the Jalapeños
  • 1/4 cups white vinegar, for cooking the Jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, finely chopped, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1/4 cups onion, finely chopped, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1/4 cups celery, finely chopped, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1 cup ground beef, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1 cup ground pork, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1/2 cups tomato purée, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1/2 tablespoons cumin, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1 tablespoon paprika, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar, for the cheeseburger stuffing
  • 1/4 cups cilantro, finely chopped, for the cheeseburger stuffing

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded, for garnish

  • Slice Jalapeños lengthwise. Trim, seed, and set aside.
  • In a saucepan with plenty of hot water, pour white vinegar. Add Jalapeños and cook for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • For the cheeseburger stuffing: In a saucepan, heat oil and fry onion and garlic. Add celery and cook for some minutes. Add ground beef and ground pork and let brown. Add tomato purée, cumin, paprika, sugar, and cilantro. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 15 more minutes. Let cool.
  • Preheat oven to 392 °F.
  • Stuff each Jalapeño chile with meat mixture. Place shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 10 minutes at 392 °F.
  • Serve cheeseburger Jalapeño poppers on a plate with white rice on the side.
