Hawaiian Sliders

Fluffy and packed with flavor, these Hawaiian sliders are the best appetizer ever! Prepared with slider buns made from scratch, these mini sandwiches are made with deli ham, pineapple, and American cheese for a drool-worthy snack fit for any gathering.

  • 4 cups wheat flour, for the slider buns
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, for the slider buns
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast, for the slider buns
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, for the slider buns
  • 1 cup butter, softened, for the slider buns
  • 2 egg yolks, for brushing the slider buns
  • 1/2 cups milk, for brushing the slider buns
  • 1/2 cups mayonnaise, with chipotle
  • 2 cups deli ham
  • 2 cups American cheese, sliced
  • 2 cups pineapple, cut into triangles
  • 1/3 cups butter, cast
  • French fries, for serving

  • In a mixer with the C-hook attachment, mix salt, dry yeast, and milk. Add butter and mix thoroughly until an elastic dough is formed. Transfer dough to a greased container and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Whisk egg yolks and milk for brushing the slider buns. On a floured surface, punch down dough and form 1.4-ounce balls with your hands. Arrange dough balls in a previously greased baking sheet. Brush with egg yolks and milk mixture. Let rest for 15 minutes. Make sure the dough does not dry out.
  • Brush slider buns with egg yolks and milk mixture again and bake for 30 minutes at 374 °F. Remove from oven and let cool.
  • On a chopping board, slice buns in half. Spread slider bun heel with chipotle mayo. Stack cheese, deli ham, and pineapple. Place slider bun crown on top and brush with butter. Bake at 374 °F until brown and until cheese melts.
  • Serve Hawaiian sliders with French fries and your favorite drink.
