Deviled Shrimp

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 guajillo chiles, seeded  
  • 7 árbol chiles, seeded  
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle chile
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 cups shrimp, cleaned and deveined  
  • salt and pepper
  • white rice, for serving

  • In a pot, heat water. Add tomato, guajillo chile, and árbol chile. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer previous ingredients to a blender, add chipotle chile, garlic, and sour cream, and blend until smooth.
  • In a pot, heat oil and pour blended mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • In a skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Fry onion and garlic for 3 minutes. Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes. Pour sauce into the pot and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Serve deviled shrimp on a plate with white rice on the side.
