  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cups white onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cups celery, chopped
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth, or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cups whole pecans
  • bread, for serving

  • In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil and butter. Cook garlic, onion, celery, and pecans. Season with salt and pepper. Pour chicken broth and milk into the skillet and bring to a boil. Set aside and let cool.
  • Transfer previous mixture to a blender, add cream cheese, and blend until smooth.
  • Pour blended preparation back into the pot and bring to a boil. Serve cream of pecan soup in a soup bowl, garnished with pecans and paired with bread.
