Football Pizza

  • 1 kilo flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups water, lukewarm
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 30 grams yeast
  • 1 cup tomato sauce, for pizza
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • basil, fresh, for garnish
  • 1 cup pepperoni
  • 1/2 cups Mozzarella cheese, for the football

  • In a bowl, mix lukewarm water, table salt, yeast, and oil.
  • Mix thoroughly. On a flat surface, pile flour into a mound and pour mixture in the center while still warm.
  • Knead thoroughly. Once the dough is not sticky, roll it into a large roll and cut it into four portions.
  • Cover with a dry clean kitchen towel. Let rise for 45 minutes.
  • Each dough portion will make a regular pizza.
  • On a previously floured flat surface, roll out each dough portion from the center with your hands.
  • Ladle tomato sauce over the dough. Top with Mozzarella cheese. Arrange pepperoni to form a football. Place Mozzarella cheese on top for the laces.
  • Bake football pizza at 428 °F for 10 minutes or until the crust browns.
  • Remove from oven and slice football pizza with a knife or a pizza cutter.
