  • 12 corn husks
  • some water, hot
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups corn masa flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 cups hazelnut chocolate cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • chocolate, melted, for garnish

  • In a bowl, soak corn husks in hot water for about 20 minutes to rehydrate and soften them. Drain and set aside.
  • In a mixer, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  • Add corn masa flour, rice flour, baking powder, and milk. Beat until incorporated.
  • Place 3 tablespoons of tamal dough on each corn husk, leaving 1/3 inch free on both sides. At the center, place 1 tablespoon of hazelnut chocolate cream. Sprinkle chocolate chips. Close and fold the tamales.
  • Arrange tamales vertically in a steamer with hot water. Cook for 1 hour or until dough comes off the corn husk.
  • Serve hazelnut chocolate cream tamales warm in a clay dish and garnish with melted hot chocolate.
