  • 2 liters water
  • 4 potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups deli ham, cut into medium-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

  • For the mashed potatoes: Heat a small pot with water over medium heat. Cook potatoes with a bit of salt until soft. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat a small pot with milk over medium heat. Add butter and cooked potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Using a potato masher, mash potatoes to a purée. Cook until milk reduces and a smooth purée is obtained.
  • Add Parmesan cheese and ham. Mix. Serve mashed potatoes with ham garnished with parsley.
