Tornado Potatoes

A fun and easy snack ready to be prepared to pamper your kids at home! These tornado potatoes feature a combination of butter, milk, flour, and potatoes and are served with a homemade cheese dip that your kids will love. Time to prepare a fun family snack in a snap!

  • 6 potatoes, medium-sized 
  • 1/2 cups butter

  • some hot sauce, Salsa Valentina
  • 200 grams American cheese, for the cheese dip
  • 4 tablespoons butter, for the cheese dip
  • 2 tablespoons flour, for the cheese dip
  • 2 cups milk, for the cheese dip

  • Insert a wooden skewer on each potato. Working in a spiral motion from one side to the other, hold a sharp knife at an angle and cut in the opposite direction you are turning the skewered potato. Cut all the way down to the skewer.
  • In a deep skillet, heat oil. Fry tornado potatoes until crunchy and golden brown. Once you remove tornado potatoes from the oil, add salt while hot.
  • Serve tornado potatoes with ketchup and hot sauce.
  • For the cheese dip: In a pot, combine American cheese, butter, flour, and milk. Cook while stirring constantly until a thick consistency is obtained.
