  • Combine tomatoes, garlic, and onion in a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside.
  • In a skillet over high heat, heat oil and cook onion. Add ground beef and cook for 7 minutes or until it turns color. Add tomato purée and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add vegetables and cook for 2 minutes. Add sauce and spices, bring to a simmer, and cook over low heat for 20 minutes or until liquid has reduced.
  • Season Mexican picadillo with salt and pepper and serve.
