  • For the salsa: Bring water to a boil in a medium-sized pot. Add salt, tomatillos, onion, garlic, guajillo chile, árbol chile for 5 minutes.
  • Combine cooked vegetables, cilantro and cumin seeds in a blender and blend for 3 minutes.
  • For the cheesy dough sticks: Make masa dough balls. Flatten in a tortilla press to about 0.05 inches thick. Stuff with a cheese strip, cut to size. Close like a taquito, including the edges.
  • Heat enough oil over medium heat. Fry cheesy dough sticks until completely brown for about 5 minutes. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
  • Place Mexican cheese sticks on a plate and spoon hot salsa over. Garnish with cream, cheese, red onion, and avocado.
