Coca-Cola Chicken Wings

  • 2 cups flour
  • some salt

  • 10 chicken wings
  • some vegetable oil, for frying the chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 cups cola
  • 1/4 cups soy sauce
  • 1/4 cups ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • some salt
  • some pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into medium-sized cubes
  • some sesame seeds, for garnish
  • some yellow corn

  • On a plate, place flour, salt, and pepper and mix with a spoon. Coat chicken wings with flour mixture and remove excess. Set aside.
  • In a pot with hot oil, fry chicken wings for 15 minutes or until brown. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • For the sauce: In a pot, heat oil and add garlic and ginger. Cook for 5 minutes. Add cola and soy sauce and cook for 10 more minutes or until slightly reduced. Add ketchup, salt, and pepper and mix thoroughly.
  • In a bowl, mix a bit of sauce and cornstarch until dissolved. Pour mixture into the sauce pot and cook for 5 more minutes or until thick. Set aside.
  • Transfer sauce to a bowl. Add butter and mix. Dip fried chicken wings in cola sauce. Place Coca-Cola chicken wings on a tray, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve with a yellow corn ear on the side.
