  • 8 tomatillos
  • 1/4 onions
  • 4 serrano chiles
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • some tortillas, stale, cut into triangles
  • some vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • some sour cream, for garnish
  • some queso fresco, crumbled for garnish
  • some onion, sliced

  • For the green sauce: In a pot with boiling water, cook tomatillos, onion, and serrano chiles for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer cooked ingredients, garlic, and cilantro to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • In a skillet, add vegetable oil and fry the sauce. Cook for 5 minutes. Reserve.
  • For the tortilla chips: Heat a deep skillet and add enough oil for frying. Fry tortilla chips for 3 minutes.
  • For assembling the chilaquiles: Make a bed of tortilla chips topped with shredded chicken. Spoon hot green sauce over. Garnish with cream, cheese, and sliced onion.
