  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for the pound cake 
  • 4 tablespoons vanilla essence, for the pound cake

  • 1/4 cups cocoa, for the light chocolate layer
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, for the dark chocolate layer
  • 1/4 cups cocoa, for the dark chocolate layer

  • In a bowl, mix all the pound cake ingredients until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Divide previous pound cake batter into 3 different bowls. Set aside.
  • For the vanilla layer, set the first bowl aside and do not add any ingredients. For the light chocolate layer, add cocoa to the second bowl. For the dark chocolate layer, add dark chocolate and cocoa to the third bowl. Mix each bowl until ingredients are completely incorporated. Set aside.
  • In a previously greased and floured pound cake pan, gently pour the batters from darkest to lightest. Bake for 50 minutes or until cooked through. Unmold and let cool.
  • Cut three-layer pound cake into slices.
