  • 4 slices wholemeal bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 liters cow's milk
  • 2 pinches cinnamon
  • 2 pinches cardamom
  • 2 pinches clove powder
  • 100 grams honey
  • 400 grams butter

  • In a bowl, mix honey, a pinch of cinnamon powder, a pinch of cardamom powder, and a pinch of clove powder.
  • Cut wholemeal slices into 3 rectangles.
  • In a bowl, mix lukewarm cow’s milk and eggs. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder, a pinch of cardamom powder, and a pinch of clove powder.
  • Dip wholemeal bread rectangles into the previous mixture for 5 minutes.
  • In a non-stick skillet, melt 0.3 ounces of butter.
  • Once butter melts, add 6 wholemeal bread rectangles and fry over low heat for 1 minute on each side.
  • Once golden brown, pour honey mixture over traditional torrijas.
  • Turn traditional torrijas over and fry over high heat until caramelized.
