Heat water in a small pot. Add guavas, cinnamon, star anise pod, and piloncillo. Cook until guavas are soft and spices release their aroma. Remove from heat. Cool and set aside.
Transfer previous preparation to a T-fal® InfinyForce blender. Blend using the blending setting. Strain.
Transfer blended preparation to a pot. Add previously dissolved cornstarch. Bring guava atole to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
