Chipotle Salsa

This traditional chipotle salsa will spice up any small-gathering by adding a mouthwatering flavor to any dish you may serve! Prepared with onion, garlic, peppercorns, chipotle chile in adobo sauce, and tomatoes, this chipotle salsa will always be the perfect addition!

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled 
  • 1/4 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 can chipotle chile in adobo sauce, 7.4 oz  
  • 1/4 bunches cilantro, finely chopped

  • On a griddle, roast garlic, onion, and tomatoes over medium heat until skins peel off. Toss constantly until evenly charred.
  • In a molcajete, crush coarse salt and peppercorns to a powder. Add garlic, onion, and water and crush to a purée. Add tomatoes one by one and crush until completely incorporated. Once a salsa martajada is obtained, add chipotle chile in adobo sauce and chopped cilantro. Adjust seasoning.
  • Serve chipotle salsa with tortilla chips.
