Peel shrimp. Remove shell, head, legs, etc. Make a butterfly cut and devein shrimp. Rinse under running water.
Cut garlic into semi-thick slices. Use 4 garlic cloves. If you want a less powerful flavor, remove the garlic germ.
Using scissors, trim chiles. Seed chiles and cut into strips.
Add oil or butter in a skillet over low heat. Sauté garlic until brown.
Add chiles and shrimp. Sprinkle with lime juice and season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat once shrimp change color.
Before removing from heat, squeeze a lime and season with salt and pepper.
Top with chopped parsley.
