  • For the nopales: Heat a pot with water. Add nopales, baking soda, and salt. Cook for about 7 minutes. Remove and strain. Set aside.
  • Mix nopales, red onion, tomato, lime juice, vinegar, and oregano. Season with salt.
  • For the morita salsa: Char tomatoes, onion, garlic, and morita chile for 5 minutes. In a molcajete or grinder, mash charred ingredients. If needed, add a dash of water. Add salt and set aside.
  • Serve nopal tacos with morita salsa topped with Cotija cheese.
