Preparation
In a skillet, fry flour tortillas over low heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil and set aside.
For the syrup: In a small pot, over medium heat, combine piloncillo, water, cinnamon, star anise pods, and guavas and cook until syrup is obtained. Let cool and set aside.
For the filling: Beat cream cheese until soft. Add dulce de leche and mix until perfectly incorporated.
On a wooden chopping board, make a tower with buñuelos. Add filling between each layer and cover with whipping cream. Garnish with guavas and cinnamon.
Serve easy buñuelos with dulce de leche with syrup on the side.
