Preparation
In a bowl, combine salt, flour, baking powder, and lard and mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add water to mixture and mix until a dough is formed.
If necessary, add one teaspoon of water at a time until a smooth dough is formed.
Cover with a wet cloth and let rest for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 12 balls. On a floured surface, roll out dough balls with a rolling pin.
Make tortillas of about 7 inches in diameter.
Cook tortillas on a griddle over high heat until tortillas get brown spots. Don’t grease the griddle.
Cover easy homemade flour tortillas with a cloth to keep them warm until ready to serve.
