Mix water, yeast, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Let sit for 20 minutes in a warm place. Place remaining flour in a large container. Make a hole in the center and place 3 eggs, 3 egg yolks, 1/3 cup of sugar, salt, orange zest, milk, melted butter, and dissolved yeast and mix. After about 15 minutes and once there are small bubbles in the mixture, ball dough and place it in another greased container. Cover with a clean cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Beat margarine until creamy. While mixing add icing sugar, 2 egg yolks, and ¾ cup of flour. Set aside. Knead dough again and shape into a ring. Transfer to a previously greased baking sheet and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 482° F. Garnish ring with margarine mixture strips and candied fruit strips. Brush ring with egg. Sprinkle margarine strips and candied fruit strips with sugar. Bake for 10 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 392 °F. Remove from oven and insert 1 or 2 plastic figurines through the bottom part of the ring. Bake authentic rosca de reyes for 10 more minutes.
